Night Walks.
The city comes alive as the sun sets and an evening walk through mixed communities is a great way to see the city and end the day. We start with a poor Muslim community, very friendly. Have a tea here or a crescent samosa if you like. Then on to an old Hindu community, the Bengali sweets here are famous. Then through a crowded wholesale vegetable market and some more small back streets and if you like return through Chandni Chowk and New Market or you might like us to end the walk at a local bar or restaurant. The walk takes approximately 3 hours.

Art Gallery Tour
This tour takes in, for the main part, the 3 biggest galleries in Kolkata which are mainly dedicated to contemporary exhibitions.
We travel to these destinations by a combination of metro, Taxi and auto rickshaw. It also includes a walk through a park and alongside a lake.
Of course there are other smaller independent galleries which often have interesting exhibitions. It’s all a matter of what’s on at any given time. However if you wish to take in some of these galleries you will need to cover extra travel expenses as they can be substantial distances from each other.
The tour starts at 3 pm and would normally last for about 3 hours. After completion we can have snacks and drinks at a spot where many of the city’s arts community meet to fraternise each evening.
Cost:
1 person Rs 2000/-
2 people Rs 1200/- per person
3 people Rs 1000/- per person
4 people Rs 800/- per person
5 people Rs 700/- per person

There are two famous temples just out of Kolkata, on the river, that are well worth exploring. Belur Math, the headquarters of the Rama Krisna Mission, a reform Hindu movement that gave rise to the saint Rama Krisna and his disciple Vivikenanda. Close by is the imposing Kali Temple at Dakshineswar. On the way we can view another smaller local Shiva temple, again on the river. The tour takes in transport by metro rail, cycle rickshaw, boats on the river, bus and even a tram ride if you wish. If you would like to do this tour or part of the tour by taxi the charge is as below plus taxi costs.
Cost:
1 person Rs 2200/-
2 people Rs 1500/- per person
3 people Rs 1000/- per person
4 people Rs 800/- per person
The tour would start from central Kolkata, (close to the Metro) or an agreed location at around 9.00am
Meet Young India through English
If you would like to spend a few hours participating in spoken English classes we can arrange them for you at a local English tutorial college in the north of the city.
You can visit just one time or arrange with the coordinator to come back at other times during your stay. You do not have to prepare anything, it is more of an opportunity for local students to practice their conversational English with native speakers or others who have good English.
Usually it will take the form of a casual discussion with a small group around a table but you are welcome to add your own ideas if you wish.
It is a great way to meet young Bengalis and communicate in a meaningful way.
Cost
We make a small once only charge to cover our time meeting you and taking you to the class and arranging the class with the college. We stay and see you back to a taxi or metro station. You are free to come back again and again at no other cost to you.
1 person Rs 2000/-
2 people Rs 1200/- per person
3 people Rs 1000/- per person
4 people Rs 800/- per person
5 people Rs 700/- per person
It is possible to combine a walk with the conversation class or participate in the class without the walk.
Payment to be made on the day.
